The Highfield Hotel is the only 3 star Silver Award Hotel in Keswick. Their setting is remarkable, in a quiet location with stunning views of the lake and mountains and yet in the heart of Keswick. We are only a few minutes walk from the town centre and the popular Theatre by the Lake.

The property was built in 1885 using local Borrowdale slate in the grand Victorian style of the day. It has many delightful architectural features which make our rooms so quirky, such as its high turrets, balconies, big bay windows and the veranda which is perfect for that perfect gin & tonic whilst taking in the views

With two relaxing guest lounges and one of the finest views in England, you won't be disappointed. 

All rooms are en suite and have been beautifully and thoughtfully restored to offer the highest quality hotel accommodation. All bedrooms have free Wi-Fi, Flat Screen TV’s, radio alarm clocks, telephones and tea & coffee facilities. The hotel has its own private car park. Highfield is an entirely non-smoking establishment.

  • “We have stayed in this hotel several times. Its location is second to none in Keswick with views to the surrounding fells from all rooms. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished and very clean. The breakfasts are superb and they also offer homemade cakes with their complimentary afternoon tea which are delicious. There is free parking on the premises. There is an honesty bar which stocks a good selection of drinks and snacks. The staff are very polite and will help in any way they can if required. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

  • “Breathtaking views and perfect hotel! We have just returned from a two night stay in this lovely hotel. We saw it when we went for the day in April and booked online when we got back for a short break for my birthday. The location is perfect, right near the lake and just a few minutes to the shops and restaurants. When you go online you can see the photos of the rooms which is nice, we chose room 9 on this occasion which had brilliant views to the lake and mountains. It was such a lovely, relaxing break and the hotel was perfect, we were reluctant to leave! We have booked to go again but for three nights next time! The breakfast was top notch with excellent food and service from warm, friendly helpful staff. The prices are fairly reasonable unlike some places in the Lake District which are extortionate.”

  • “This hotel gives you a beautiful view of Keswick. We stayed in the east turret room and had gorgeous views front and back and the location is perfect. It is on the second floor so 4 small flights of stairs and no lift. All the staff we met were friendly helpful and genuinely happy to help. Breakfast was ample and well presented and the tables had white tablecloths.”
